Dr. Graves received the DVM degree from Cornell University, and the MS and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine.

He completed a small animal internship at The Ohio State University, and a small animal internal medicine residency at Michigan State University; he is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is past Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Morris Animal Foundation, and currently serves on the organization’s Animal Welfare Assurance Committee. He has published and spoken extensively in the area of small animal endocrinology. His research, focusing on geriatric medicine and diabetes, has been funded by the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Feline Winn Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health.
